Hydroxycut is acknowledged as a nutritional supplements aimed at helping consumers lose body weight as it acts like fat burners. Currently sold without ephedra, the advertisers claim that the product increases metabolism and reduces hunger and craving for food. But like many other nutraceuticals, the effectiveness of Hydroxycut is debatable.

According to published scientific reports, the key ingredients contained in the Hydroxycut formula may help people lose up to four times the weight than they through dieting and physical exercises. The primary weight-loss driving ingredients of Hydroxycut fat burners have been clinically studied and reportedly include garcinia cambogia, gymnema sylvestre, chromium polynicotinate, caffeine, green tea.

Some analysts argue that Hydroxycut is not clinically proven to be a fat burners as MuscleTech, its manufacturer claims. MuscleTech’s own study showed that Hydroxycut has no special efficacy with the possible exception of an appetite-suppressing effect. The more serious allegation is the adverse health risks of Hydroxycut with ephedra – including death – were not adequately disclosed or highlighted in marketing and labeling of the product.

Earlier there were a lot of protests against Hydroxycut as it contained a controversial herb, Ephedra, banned by the FDA. Hydroxycut now is available free from Ephedra and claims to increase metabolism and energy while curbing appetite, reducing calories and maintaining blood sugar. When the consumption of Hydroxycut is accompanied by a balanced diet and exercise regimen, the company claims the users shed two-to-three times more weight. It is recommended that Hydroxycut is taken half-to-one hour prior to meals along with eight ounces of water.

There are some lurking suspicions about the efficacy of Hydroxycut as the consumption of the pill is paired with a reduced calorie diet and an exercise regimen. Almost all weight loss can be achieved by changing ones eating habits, exercising, and most weight loss occurs when you combine the two. This makes the role of the pill suspect. If you observe diet restrictions and indulge in exercises and take the pill, your assumption that the pill is secret to your weight loss may be incorrect. Research for this product is not convincing enough to spend your money and start using the pill.

Hydroxycut has spent huge sums of money on advertising and its ad campaign includes TV commercials, internet ads and press ads. But merely because there are scores of ads does not mean that Hydroxycut will do things right. Health officials opine you should really do some research before buying a weight loss pill that could possible alter your body chemistry. It is understood that there is considerable quantity of caffeine in each pill of Hydroxycut. As a matter of fact, there is more caffeine in a pill than there is in two cups of coffee. That much caffeine can certainly affect your health and you should be cautious about taking pills that add so much caffeine to your normal daily intake.

Hydroxycut originally contained ephedra and was actually more effective. But due to some recent legal wrangles against companies that market products containing ephedra, the manufacturer removed ephedra from Hydroxycut. Some argue that the makers of Hydroxycut fat burners have changed the whole formula and replaced the powerful ephedra with a much weaker pill sans ephedra.
