There are two types of Hungry Girl Pasta Expanders which use ingredients that help you make twice the serving size as compared to traditional pastas but consume around half the calories. The second Pasta Expander is Easy Cheesy Lasagna. This recipe of lasagna uses the egg plant in the layers and real lasagna noodle so no worries, you are not missing out anything! Use 1 cup chopped mushrooms, 1 cup canned crushed tomatoes, ½ tablespoon Italian seasoning, 2 sheets whole wheat lasagna noodles and 1 tablespoon reduced-fat parmesan. Hungry Girl brings women who love food, some amazing Frozen Food Mega Meals. Mega Meal number 1 is Whopper Stopper. Traditional whoppers are fattening and have high calorie content but using some magic ingredients, you can make a low calorie replica of whoppers at home. Boca Burgers can help you in the preparation. These are low in fat and taste exactly like beef. Once cooked up, they can be added to the buns loaded with veggies and enjoyed. All what you need is 1 Boca Burger, 1 light whole-wheat hamburger bun, 1 slice of tomato, 1 slice onion, 1 table spoon of ketchup, ½ lettuce leaf, 1 tablespoon light mayonnaise and 3 dill pickle chips. Preferably, flat buns should be used that are high in fiber content. It is just like any fast food deal but with greatly reduced fat content. A normal fast food deal of this sort has around 670 calories while the Hungry Girl’s recipe gives just 220 calories.
The second meal is about adding some calories to your frozen foods. Frozen foods taste good and we love to keep them in our freezers but they are too small in size and yet, have a lot of sauce and hence, are fatty. So, you can take a pack of frozen vegetables, steam them and add your favorite frozen food to them. This exercise reduces the fat content amazingly, makes up for a completely filling meal and does not require any sauces from the frozen food to be extracted or left out. Thus by adding a little bit of calorie, you can enjoy a meal that brings you an extremely healthy dish.
Hungry Girl also brings some Supersized Sweets and Treats that are low in calorie and fat content. Treat number one is Apple Pie in a Mug. All it requires is one medium Fuji apple, ½ sheet low-fat cinnamon graham crackers, dash cinnamon and 15-20 red hots. Mix everything up and put the container in the microwave. A typical serving of a slice of Apple Pie gives you 490 calories while the Hungry Girl’s Apple Pie gives you just 135 calories per mug. The second treat is Egg Club Soda Chocolate Cake. Traditional cakes have oils, eggs, butter and hence, a lot of unneeded fat. For the Hungry Girls’ recipe, take one 12 oz can of club soda and mix it up with a dark chocolate cake mix or any flavor of your choice and bake up the mixture. By doing this you save a hundred calories per slice and a lot of fat. Yet, it is moist and rich and simply delectable. A slice of a traditionally made cake brings 290 calories while this one brings just 171.
There is a 300 calorie dinner from Hungry Girl that can help women enjoy all that they like whilst not gaining extra weight. For women with no cooking experience, this is simply a fantastic choice. The name of the dish is Pan Fried Chicken Parm. To make this heavy yet delectable recipe less fattening and bring down its calorie content, the first thing to do is to use Fiber One Breakfast Cereal along with bread crumbs. The ingredient is magical and needs to be turned into a very fine powder. This can be done by putting it in a grinder, food processor or even coffee grinder. Being a breakfast cereal, it is a little sweet so needs to be seasoned. For this, add salt, onion powder, garlic powder and some Italian seasonings. After this, the mixture needs to be whisked up.
In another bowl, you need to beat ¼ cup of liquid egg substitute. A real egg can also be used but the substitute keeps fat content low so it is preferable. The chicken breasts are to be dipped into the egg substitute and coat both the sides and then make a coating with the Fiber One mixture made in another bowl. Preheat a pan with some non-stick spray instead of oil to again, keep the fat content low and keep it on medium high heat. Toss the chicken piece into the pan and flip it over after 4 minutes. Remember, each side needs to be cooked for 4 minutes. Once the chicken cutlets have turned brownish in color and crispy in texture, you need to spread out 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce on each side of the cutlets. A tomato sauce that is low in fat can also be made or bought for this purpose. Also, spread ¼ cup reduced-fat shredded mozzarella cheese on the two sides. The pan will be covered and the cutlets removed when the cheese has melted. Where traditional Chicken Parm has 1090 calories, Hungry Girl’s recipe gives you no more than 258 calories per serving.
