Trick Your Taste Buds: Eat Healthy |
Change how vegetables taste with the sugar splash. Make Brussels sprouts the way you want (steam, stir fry or boil) and put a few spoons of brown sugar. With the addition of sugar, the taste of these healthy veggies will increase. According to research, if you have vegetables with sugar, you can change your attitude towards them and will start liking them even without the sugar.
Make a sugar sauce by putting sugar in water and dip a cauliflower piece in it. Cauliflower is one of the healthy foods that everyone should have, cooked or raw. It does taste great even without having it dipped but if you still think eating it just like that won’t be a tasteful experience then dip them in a sugar dip and eat. This will taste crunchy sweet and tasty. Sugar does dramatically change the way cauliflower taste.
Another thing you can do to reprogram your taste buds is making the foods crunchy. You can do it with salads, sunflower seeds and if you really want something more radical; you can sprinkle snacks like chips and crackers on vegetables. Take a plate full of cooked or raw broccoli and crumble crackers or chips on them and eat with pleasure. Purees are the best gadgets that get vegetables into your diet. All you have to do is puree some summer squash and cauliflower and have them with foods like cheese macaronis. By doing this, you are going to get good veggies and will eat less because of the bulkiness of the puree.
Last but not the least: Your ears can actually change the way your taste buds respond to the food. If you are in the noisy environment, you food will not taste as good as it could in a quiet place. It is another reason why the food on airplane tastes so bad. If you want to enjoy your veggies, you would want to have them in a calm environment.
